Ingredients
- String beans, cleaned
- 1 onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- Small piece of ginger root
- 1 tablespoon tamarind (asam)
- Galangal (laos)
- Tomato, diced
- 1 vegetable bouillon cube
- Oil (for frying)
Instructions
Step 1: Make the base
Finely chop the onion, garlic, and ginger root. Fry briefly in oil, then add a tablespoon of tamarind and the galangal.
Step 2: Add the beans
Add the cleaned string beans and fry them along briefly. Add the diced tomato and the vegetable bouillon cube.
Step 3: Simmer
Put the lid on the pan and let everything simmer until the beans are done.
Tips
This dish is even better when prepared a day in advance. It pairs perfectly with sambal tempeh goreng.
